Did I have an asthma attack? Many answers would be helpful!?

Ok to start off, I have never been formally diagnosed with asthma, but asfter reading symtoms online I think I have it. Last night, I felt like I couldnt breathe, my throat was tight, and kept coughing. Eventually I just chilled out and the feeling went away. But two hours later it was back with full force, and i went crazy. I kept pacing around my house, taking MANY deep breaths, coughing, gagging, tight throat, crying, rapid heartbeat, and trying to listen for weird sounds from my lungs. I only heard what sounded like a wheeze twice, and some weird gurgling sounds. The allergist prescribed me an inhaler for allergies acting up so I took that, and felt better. Today, the right side of my back hurts, and my right arm hurts. What was this, and am I gonna die? I do have anxiety, so I feel like its all in my mind, and everyone thinks im crazy.
