Guys, why do you hum around a girl?

When I was young, we used the word 'humming' as slang for someone who had BO. If he seems comfortable around everyone else, and keeps communication with you limited to work, he might just be trying to keep it short when dealing with you. Maybe that's why he seems uncomfortable, and maybe that's what the humming means?
