How can I rid my varicose vein?

I have one vein which has been varicose since I was 10. After having had 4 children it has deteriorated to the point I would like to get rid of it now. BUT I dont want to have to spend tme in hospital, or have a general anaesthetic to have it stripped. What are my other options? And what prices am I looking at for having this done privately?
