What do you think of Hollywood comedy movie remakes of old TV shows that were serious in tone?

These remakes are meant to make a quick buck and rarely are homages to the original. But why stop there? TV tries to bring back old series,too and rarely is that a good effort. I think it's less a sign of contempt than a sign of lack of original ideas. So look forward to golden age series dumb-downed for the big screen and sequel after sequel.
